Afghan Refugee Program
In the fall of 2021, over 500 Afghan refugees arrived in Philadelphia with almost no advance notice. We created a special halal program in just over two weeks. Over the next 5 months, we prepared and fulfilled over 40,000 meals and 1,200 grocery orders. We also hired 5 Afghan refugees to help ensure halal compliance and assist with general operations.
